TESTIMONIALS

Read what a few of our recent International Scholar Laureate Program on Nursing scholars have to say about the experience of attending the program.

"By observing how kind and warm the people from South Africa are despite their lack of resources in health care, I am inspired to be a better person and a more compassionate nurse."

"I have greater appreciation for my role as a nurse in the United States and all the opportunities available to me there."

"This experience provided me with amazing opportunities that will stay with me for the rest of my life. The things I have seen and the places I've been allowed to visit were truly incredible."

"This program has really enhanced my educational experience thus far as a nurse, and helped me become a more well-rounded individual."

Delegation on Nursing in South Africa, Summer 2006

"I gained a whole new outlook and perspective on nursing, as well as appreciation for all the hard work the nurses are doing in South Africa. I am amazed by their sense of hope and faith and ability to critically think and assess situations, as well as utilizing their scarce resources to the best of their abilities. From this experience, I hope to extend the compassion we've seen demonstrated and teach others as they have."

"Everyone, and I mean everyone, needs to be exposed at some point in their lives to third world conditions such as those that exist in South Africa. It is literally life changing. The nursing program did a fantastic job facilitating the most amazing learning experience of my life."

"My name is Amanda Aragon representing the University of New Mexico. I just wanted to inform you all that I am exceptionally pleased with this organization. I could not have had a better trip. I am a frequent international traveler and this by far was the best trip. The group of nursing students selected was intelligent and had great insight. The compassion of our group (students, tour guides and instructors) was tremendous and held us together through traumatic experiences with AIDS. I feel privileged to call these people not only my colleagues but also my friends. We have you all to thank for the bonds and networks that have been formed with nurses around the United States and South Africa (this is a great asset in our profession).

The itinerary, tour guides, instructors, and speakers were planned perfectly. The money paid to come on the trip was well spent and minimal for the experiences we embarked on. The professionals we spoke with were successful in their occupations and provided immense knowledge. They took time out of their demanding schedule to talk to us and let us observe. Our tour guides did an amazing job making sure that we abided by our itinerary. Jenny and Dianne were great role models for us. They were exceptional leaders; challenging us to rise to the occasion. When tribulations arose with my flights, personally, the tour guides and instructors were incredible at trouble shooting and promptly fixing what could have been a major bump in the road. I personally want to thank you for a great trip that will forever live in me and constantly be reflected in my profession as a nurse."
